The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce today announced that Bob Schafstall will serve as its new membership director. Schafstall will replace Tim Cooney, when he retires at the end of this year. Cooney has held the position since 2012. Schafstall brings more than 22 years of customer service and sales experience to the role, having most recently served as the lead salesperson for Columbus-based Burt’s Pest Control. He was recognized as the 2019 Chamber Ambassador of the Year, in recognition of his high level of engagement and his support of the Chamber. Schafstall begins on December 2, 2019. “The Chamber Board of Directors and its members are grateful to Tim Cooney for his many years of outstanding leadership and service,” said Karl Kissinger, Senior Vice President – Business Services at Centra Credit Union and the Chamber’s Board Chair. “Going forward, we are pleased that Bob Schafstall will bring his considerable sales abilities, strong work ethic, and record of exemplary customer service to this important community role.” Schafstall is originally from Columbus. He attended Columbus North High School and Purdue University. The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce is an independent 501(c)(6) organization serving 550 business members who employ nearly 30,000 local residents.
