The Daviess County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Commission is pleased to announce that Joe Morris has been hired as the new Executive Director effective immediately.
The Washington native is no stranger to the Daviess County area. He's a product of the area and brings 28 years experience in business start-ups, rebuilds, entrepreneurship, business development, marketing & strategic planning.
"We are excited to have Joe on board. Joe brings a big vision, big ideas and strong knowledge. I believe he will create opportunities for all of our members. I'm excited to embrace Joe's ideas, ready for change and excited to move our Chamber and community into the future," said Shanon O'Toole, President of the Daviess County Chamber of Commerce.
Beyond his profession experiences, Mr. Morris is passionate about seeing Daviess County grow & compete economically; while building strong communities, schools and quality of life throughout the county.
“It was a pleasure working with the Executive Committee in the search for our new director. We want to thank all the applicants who applied it was not an easy decision. We are excited to jump in feet first and begin working with Joe on the Daviess County Tourism Commission. Joe brings a lot of excitement, drive and a vision for moving Daviess County forward. In our meetings, his enthusiasm was contagious and after our meetings we all left fired up. I am excited to have Joe back home here in Daviess County and really excited for what the future holds for both the Chamber of Commerce and the Tourism Commission,” said Dewayne Shake, President of the Daviess County Tourism Commission.
Joe Morris added, "I want to thank the selection committee and the entire board of directors for their vote of confidence. There's a tremendous opportunity for Daviess County to seize a myriad of opportunities and now is the time to put the right foot forward in making those opportunities a reality. I'm looking forward to getting reacquainted with the Community and leaders of Daviess County."
